Outside research

I like swimming, hiking, and spending time in nature, and I often read Persian poetry. I love simple patterns that grow naturally over time, especially in nature; anything shaped slowly by time has a beauty of its own.

How I see things

Whenever something can be described with math, I get excited. But the further I go, the more I see that life is too complex to be captured by any model. That is why I tend to see life as a story that is still unfolding: I don’t try to force things into perfect shapes, but I notice when something feels slightly off. I also find resonance with Taoism and its sense of balance and flow, of living in harmony with the natural order of things (the Dao). This is also why I enjoy donghua and novels built around Daoist ideas.
